The National Shrine and Parish of
Saint Anne as a Pilgrim Church for the Jubilee Year 2025 - Pilgrims of Hope

Last December 29, 2024, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Malolos, under the pastorship of its bishop, Most Reverend Dennis C. Villarojo, inaugurated the Jubilee Year 2025 in the Diocese. That afternoon, the six pilgrim churches consecutively inaugurated their local Jubilee. During the celebration at the cathedral for the inauguration, His Excellency bestowed upon the six Jubilee churches the Jubilee Cross and the certificate bearing the signature of the local ordinary, declaring the national shrine as a place for pilgrimage.

The National Shrine's inclusion as a Jubilee Church for the Jubilee Year 2025 is a great honor and blessing. It means that the shrine is now a special place where people can pray, seek forgiveness, and grow in their faith. As a pilgrimage site, it gives the faithful an opportunity to receive plenary indulgences and experience God's mercy in a deeper way. This recognition also highlights the shrine’s importance in the Diocese of Malolos, reminding everyone of its role in spreading devotion and strengthening the community. Through this, the shrine continues to guide people closer to Christ and help them live their faith with greater love and commitment.

In this Jubilee Year of Hope, we extend our heartfelt prayers and best wishes to all who will embark on a pilgrimage to the National Shrine. May each pilgrim encounter Jesus, our true hope, in a deep and personal way. Through the intercession of our beloved patrons, Saint Anne and Saint Joachim, and under the loving care of our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, may every visitor experience divine grace, mercy, and a strengthened faith.

Signs of Jubilee

YEAR OF MERCY

EXTRAORDINARY JUBILEE

The last Jubilee Year took place in 2015. It was a special year dedicated to deepening our understanding of God’s infinite mercy and encouraging the faithful to become instruments of His mercy in the world.

The National Shrine of Saint Anne held a special role in this Jubilee as it was one of the designated pilgrim churches at the time. Its Holy Door was opened and became a Porta Sancta, a sacred gateway to God’s mercy. A plaque was installed outside the shrine’s door, serving as a lasting marker of the Year of Mercy. That door became a Door of Mercy, symbolizing the path to our merciful Lord and an invitation to experience His boundless compassion.ing of God’s infinite mercy and encouraging the faithful to become instruments of His mercy in the world.
